Gordon goes "cheesy grin" style. The food was delish at the Grand Hotel in Lund, especially the Ris à la Malta! Highly recommendable!

Lucia - SonyEricsson 2007

Every year in Sweden on Dec 13th we celebrate Lucia, which is a festival of song and light to brighten up our dark lives in the midst of Winter. And today we had a little "Luciatåg" at work, complete with Lussekattor (saffron buns), glögg and ginger biscuits. :-)

Make a little birdhouse in your soul

The little tweeters will have somewhere dry to collect their food over winter now that we've made them a birdhouse food table ;-) Christel finished off the painting today and put the roof on :-D

Stairway to heaven ;-)

We thought we'd bling up the staircase a little, and it's turned out really well, although this photo doesn't do it justice.

Another super shot by Annika ensures our 2nd place in today's "goose" golf competition, which earned us 2 chickens each and a bag of carrots! Yoohoo! ;-))))

Autumnal garden

Christel has been cutting back bushes and other flowering plants, while I've been raking up the leaves in the cold autumn weather. Somehow I get the feeling I'll be filling a few more bags before the end of the month!

Relaxing at home

Carole secretly admitted to like watching Christel screw. The dirty bugger! :-P

Kullaberg

A walk in the nature reserve revealed many native varieties of inhabitants as well as ones of foreign extraction ;-)

More Kullaberg

On the edge of the world....almost! ;-) And that jacket makes me look huge. Mental note: Buy new jacket!

Flying the flag!

Carole is coming to visit today so we thought it's only appropriate that we raise the Union Jack on our flagpole (as that's the kind of welcome she would appreciate)

The "Queen" will be in residence shortly :-ppp

Van sticker

Snapped this one on the way home from work yesterday. It says "Pedophiles and rapists are also humans when they're lying 3 metres under ground!".
I couldn't agree more!

2007 Solheim Cup - Halmstad, Sweden

Laura, Laura, Laura!! My golfing hero, Laura Davies, gets ready to tee off in the Fourball with Becky Brewerton. We were worried that we wouldn't get to see her play as she didn't play in the morning and due to the delays, we weren't sure that the second round of Fourballs would start!
We followed Laura and Becky's ball and they played exceptionally. A dream to watch!

2007 Solheim Cup - Halmstad, Sweden

Large crowds at the short par 3 13th hole made it difficult for either of us to see, and Christel is over 6ft!

2007 Solheim Cup - Halmstad, Sweden

Yesterday we went to watch the second round of the Solheim Cup in Halmstad. WHAT an atmosphere! Play was delayed for 2hrs in the morning due to the heavy winds, which more or less continued for the rest of the day, but it didn't dampen anyone's spirits. Armed with our European flag, we hopped and jumped and cheered on the European Team!

We have heating!

A German plumber came to install the system today while the energy company came to lay the pipes. Check out the guy in the shorts! It was only 12 deg C, brrr!

Fjärrvärme installation

My first attempt at a video blog now that the Blogger functionality is working in the K850i.

Fjärrvärme

We're getting fjärrvärme installed this week. For those who don't know what "fjärrvärme" is, it's central heating pumped in directly from the powerstation. The hot water left over from the cooling towers when generating electricity is pumped through the town, providing hot water and central heating for those who want it. Our old oil-powered heating system leaves us with a huge carbon footprint and so we wanted a more "greener" home.
The installation will take all week.

September Fog

As the days become shorter and shorter here in Sweden, so the early morning fog starts to set in. This was taken on my way to work this morning.

Ängelholm's National Ladies Day Tournament

I'm really chuffed after today's victory at Ängelholm GC in the National Ladies Day Tournament, especially as I've not been feeling well the past couple of days and the weather was absolutely awful. I do love my golf! Shame the season is now coming to an end.

Viking food??

Because the Vikings have always been famous for their love of burger bars.......!

Coffee time

Enjoying some java at a Helsingör street café.

Result!

After a whizz around Kvickly at Prövestenen, and 3800DEK later, we got everything in the car and also picked up a really cool grill, which we can hopefully use at least once this year if the weather allows. Had we bought everything in Sweden we've worked out that we would have paid 1500SEK more! Well worth the trip!

Boat to Denmark

Off to buy cheap booze for the housewarming party. :-P
