Wine cellar

As I'm currently out of action with excruciating back pain, Christel has been busy renovating our wine cellar. We're just freshening up the already white walls and will repaint the floor and put up some new wine racks.

We've very little wine left due to drinking up as much as we can so that we didn't have to remove as much for the renovation of course!

I don't remember the price falling this low even after 9/11! Only this time we don't need any Islamic terrorists to bring down the economy, we're doing a fine job of it ourselves thank you very much!
It's my old work colleagues I feel sorry for when the inevitable jobs cull comes along, if the company actually manages to stay afloat (although I doubt the German govt will allow DeuBa to fail...) Kopf hoch und stark bleiben! ;-))

Skåneleden - Torekov to Båstad

And we're off! It's a gorgeous sunny day, 17deg C and hardly no wind. Only 18km to go......still smiling!

After 2 hours we reached Hovs Hallar and stopped for a spot of lunch and a nice glass of red.

Here we reached the highest point at Knösen (Haga) after getting lost in the woods half way up. Pleased, VERY pleased to have reached the top!!

We reached Norrviken after 6 hours. I'm totally knackered but had a fab day, despite wanting to cry on my way up to Knösen!!!

Life is beautiful

The sunset yesterday evening was awe-inspiring. And there's nothing like a nice walk along the beach with the one you love :-)))

E6 Blixtlåsprincipen

This is the post where Helen gets on her soapbox. They are currently digging up the E6 at Glumslöv near Helsingborg, which is currently causing traffic chaos to and from work. Unlike in most other European countries the Swedes just do not understand the "blixtlåsprincip" ("zipper system", or whatever it's called in English) For some reason lorry drivers think it's a great way to ease the traffic by parking themselves in the middle of the motorway and blocking everyone from driving past thus causing a perfectly normal 2,5km jam to double in length.....arrrrghhh! So on Wednesday evening I was almost at the point of roadrage when, yet again, another lorry started to block the motorway 4km from where the roadworks actually start....when there are instructions on the motorway sign showing how one should behave when it's heavy traffic! I'm NOT a happy bunny going to and from work at the moment. Why can't the Swedes get it into their heads that you're supposed to use BOTH lanes right up until the roadworks begin and then file in one after the other?!?!?! Somebody help! Torekov Irish-Greensome

On Saturday I played an Irish-Greensome with Bernt in the POURING rain at Torekov Golf Club! And despite the poor weather conditions and it taking us 5hrs 45mins we actually played ok and came 3rd place! Needless to say my shoes nearly crawled home by themselves once we'd finished. I had to put them in our fan oven on 60degrees to get them dry for my match on Sunday!
