Great day on the course and a great result. I played SO badly in last Saturday's match that I was ready to saw through all my clubs. Thankfully I pulled through today. 1st place in the A-Class and won the "nearest hole" competition at hole 12.
Now playing with a handicap of 10,4. Hopefully will reach single this season!

Round 2 - Allébanan Vasatorp

Got my new Callaway X-22s today and have taken them for a test drive. NEVER have I hit so long with irons or had such precision with my short game. Shit, I can now hit 100m with my sand wedge!!! I actually went under my handicap (20pts over 9 holes) too so I'm really really happy with this evening's round and feel that my goal of getting down from 13,1hcp to 10hcp this season is well within reach.

Golf 2009 - trolley plates

This year we thought it was time to bling up our golf trolleys and what better way than to kit them out with their own number plates ;-)) Christel's is "Nybörjare" (Beginner) and mine is "Queen of the Green". Of course, I'm being *very* self ironic and taking the piss as I couldn't be further from being Queen of the Green! My putting is more than terrible, in fact it's a disaster!!!!
Ah well, all we need now is a golf club to play at. I only hope they understand my sarcastic British sense of humor, wherever we decide to play!! ;-))

Torekov Irish-Greensome

On Saturday I played an Irish-Greensome with Bernt in the POURING rain at Torekov Golf Club! And despite the poor weather conditions and it taking us 5hrs 45mins we actually played ok and came 3rd place! Needless to say my shoes nearly crawled home by themselves once we'd finished. I had to put them in our fan oven on 60degrees to get them dry for my match on Sunday!

Driving Mad!

This is the first time I've seen my own swing. I can see quite a few problems with it.
1) I swing far too long back on my backswing
2) I don't keep my head still
3) I turn my body too much on the backswing

I'm sure if a pro analysed it they would see even more mistakes, but how far do you go with analysis before you become too critical and stop enjoy playing the game any more?
Of course if I didn't watch so much Viasat Golf then I wouldn't be so critical of myself, but I can't help comparing myself to the pros who are in a completely different league altogether, and I'll never reach their level in my lifetime so I don't really know why I bother! LOL! ;-)

A Clicgear golf cart. How exciting!!!! My old trolley "broke" (ahem) during a golf match last Sunday. Worth every hard-earned Swedish crown!

There's a reason why "Murder hill" up to the green on the 16th is called just that. When you get to the top you really do want to drop....especially in temperatures of up to 30C like it was on Sunday!

Vårslaget Ängelholm GC - First Prize

After a very hard fought battle and a blistering last 9 holes at only 2 over par I won my first competition of the year! I've never played so well in my life and it feels so great after all the training and hard work I've put in. So I came home, much to Christel's delight, with a very nice bamboo plant and pot worth 1000kr :-D
