When out walking in the snow it's important to have the correct equipment....and a suitable tree branch to hang your rucksack on, out of the snow! ;-D That way you can enjoy your egg and bacon sarnie with peace of mind :o))
Don't step on the ice!
It's always good with a little direction every now and again :o)
The raised wooden pathway was very shaky in the middle. Christel gingerly got to the other side but now it was my turn.....*wibble*
Awww, such a cutie! :-D
Winter wonderland
Up to my boots in it. But there's nothing nicer than that sound and feeling of walking in virgin white snow!!
Off she goes!
Christmas tree :o)
The sun, the snow, the silence. Love it!

TappaVandringen 2011, Varberg - 21km hike

At the start with a smile on our faces....or rather a very nervous grimace!!
Christel knows the way!!
Someone with my kind of humour!! :-)))
At the first watering hole, a band tries to keep our peckers up in the pouring rain!!
A long trek down a field track. The wind was wicked and the rain got into every nook and cranny!
....but Christel and Christina are still happy happy happy!!! :-D
A kite surfer makes a splash
14km down, 7 to go, and still smiling (if not almost wet through and sporting a fascinating colour combination!!) :-D Gotta keep moving on!
Swedish humour ;-)
It's a shame you can't hear the photo because the waves crashing against the rocks was lovely!
HOORAY!! The finish line was just around the next fortress :-)

Skåne Event 2011 - Finjasjö, Hässleholm

No, she's not praying!! Christel checks out a suspicious pipe to see if the cache is hiding in there...
...but it wasn't! Where is the darn thing?! Well we did find it, sneakily hidden in the grass!
Pia and Sanne also made it to the top but Helena decided to stay ground-level and take care of the dogs. Cache logged and a glorious view enjoyed!
On the way up! Don't slip!
'
Charlie.
There are some lovely trails to walk in the woods around Finjasjö!
A stray rape seed plant.
Hector shows how tough he is against the sheep!
However, the sheep were having none of it and started to chase us!
I will follow ewe! Run for your lives!!
One last show of muscle from Hector but the sheep really weren't impressed!
Ewe lookin' at us?
The entrance gate at Hovdala Castle
They have a great café at Hovdala Castle where they also brew their own beer and do a lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes :-P We deserved out break after 6km of caching!
On we went, and Pia found the next cache.
Me and my twisted rucksack strap. No wonder it felt weird! But it didn't stop me or anyone else from enjoying the view on our 11km hike!
A suckling calf with a rather unimpressed mother who mooed at us constantly!
Day 2 and Christel is sent off on another physical challenge. It's really handy being so tall! ;-)
Along the trail, with tired legs and blisters on our feet.
Another bovine friend we passed in a field.
Homeward bound. :-) What a fantastic weekend! Lots of walking, lots of caching, and great company :-D

Söderåsen Spring hike!

When we did our little trek through the snow here in Winter we said we would come back and see how it all looks in the Spring. We were not disappointed today! It's just beautiful!
Icey cold but very clear!
Very grateful that the National Park owners have put down decking to walk on otherwise the place would get trashed with walkers
Here I am at the bottom of the talus slopes, formed during the last ice age by ice erosion.
Puh, once again at the top of Söderåsen (Kopparhatten) after the most wonderful ascent in gorgeous Spring sunshine.
Lunchtime!
The darling buds of May....errr, I mean, April :-)
Overlooking the lake on the way back down from Kopparhatten
